Sharon Ann Pittman Pitts, a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully on November 3, 2025, surrounded by her family. Born June 13, 1955, Sharon was predeceased by her parents, G.C. and Augusta Pittman, and is survived by her husband, Randy Pitts, son, Harper Pitts, step-son, Brent Pitts (Maegan), three grandchildren, Brackston, Brooks, and Braegan, brother, David Pittman (Barbara), and sister, Patty Weaver (Russell), along with several nieces and nephews.
Sharon graduated from Victoria High School in 1973. There she excelled in school, was a cheerleader, and was recognized as Miss Congeniality 1971—a title she embodied up to her passing.
Shortly thereafter, Sharon moved to Austin and attended the University of Texas. Following her time at the University, Sharon began her professional career, which ranged from working for the State of Texas to assisting handicap persons. Although her resume does include selling real estate and men’s clothes, most of her professional career was spent in state government. She worked in the Texas House of Representatives (Speaker’s Office) as well as for the State Preservation Board. Notably, while working for the State Preservation Board, Sharon aided in the oversight and construction of the Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum.
Sharon was bilingual. She was a Certified Sign Language Interpreter and helped influence the Deaf Outreach Program for the Texas Attorney General’s office. Through her efforts, she and her supervisor helped create a program that assisted deaf mothers establish paternity and collect past due child support payments.
It is clear from her actions, Sharon was a giver. She had a natural gift for making others feel valued and cared for. When Sharon was not working as an interpreter, she worked as a Job Coach. As part of her duties, Sharon mentored and assisted mentally and physically disabled people assimilate into the workforce. Through her works, Sharon showed the value of generosity, compassion, and patience—something we could all show a little more of.
Sharon’s family was her greatest joy. She poured her heart into creating a home filled with warmth, laughter, and love. Sharon built a beautiful life with her devoted husband of 34 years, and together they were bonded by a deep love for one another, which strengthened with every passing day. She was a proud and loving mother to their son, an attorney in Dallas, whose accomplishments brought her endless pride and joy.
Sharon’s interests were many: she loved watching movies and TV series (which she jokingly referred to as ‘serials’), sitting on the back porch, playing golf, working on home projects, traveling, and most of all, fishing (especially at the coast). She was a true die-hard when it came to casting a line. While everyone else was tired and had turned in for the night, Sharon (perhaps stubbornly) stayed out well past 3:00 a.m., in search of that next big one hiding somewhere in the surf.
Her impact on this world is (and will be) felt for years to come and far beyond her family—touching the lives of countless friends and loved ones who will forever remember her radiant smile and open heart. Though Sharon’s earthly journey has come to a close, her legacy of faith, grace, and unconditional love will live on in her family, her friends, and every life she brightened.
As we celebrate Sharon’s life, and mourn her passing, we all take comfort in the fact that she now rests peacefully in the arms of her Savior—her laughter echoing in heaven, her love everlasting.
