Galen grew up in the Antelope Valley, graduated from Antelope Valley High School and

Galen lived in the Antelope Valley for 67 years.
Galen was a kind, strong, hard-working, and gentle man who took care of those he
loved. His sense of humor would leave you laughing and full of joy, and he loved to talk
about the “old days” of growing up in the AV. He did his very best to leave the world a
better place and was a man of great character and integrity. He loved fishing, camping,
the ocean, every type of animal, and anything Disney (especially Grumpy). He was a
husband, father, brother, grandpa, and friend.
Galen was preceded in death by his parents Galen, Jr. and Dorothy Reed, and his son
Joshua Reed. He is survived by his wife Debbie, children Regina (Reed) Bloemendaal,
Melissa Reed, Deanna (Reed) Kaufman, and Michael Reed, as well as his brothers
William “Bill” Reed, Darren “Skip” Reed, and sister JoAnn Reed. He had seven
grandchildren: Brennon Bloemendaal, Brianna Bloemendaal, Bryleigh (Bloemendaal)
Oman, Megan Kaufman, Makenzie Kaufman, Joshua Reed, and Skylar Reed.
