

Gerald D. Miller was born in Toledo, OH on Sept. 30, 1945 to his parents Fred and Ruth Miller. He died on April 15, 2015. Jerry joined th U.S. Air Force in 1965, a veteran of the Viet Nam war, serving in Korea, Spain, Italy and in CA, NY and SC. He came to the Antelope Valley in 1985, after retiring from the Air Force with 20 years of honorable service, to work building the B-1 Bomber and later as a federal employee at Edwards AFB. His love of country and the Air Force were central to his being. Jerry was a hands-on kind of guy, always willing to take on life's challenges. He filled his retirement years making and refinishing furniture and on remodeling projects in the home. He also learned a new hobby making custom knives and gifting his craft to family and friends. Jerry and Phyllis, his wife of 42 years, traveled in the U.S., including his favorite State of Hawaii and Mexico. His family came first in a life devoted to his loved ones. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Jerry is survived by his wife, Phyllis, step-sons, Shawn and Joseph Flores and daughter, Margaret Skinner (Scott), three granddaughters, Natalie Ventura (Joe), Brittany Flores and Haley Flores, brother Jeff Miller and extended family members. The memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 22nd, 2015, interment to follow at Joshua Memorial Park, 800 E. Lancaster Blvd. Lancaster, with a reception immediately following at the Miller household.
