Arrangements under the direction of JoshuJames W. Byrd, of Lancaster, CA, a retired Civil Engineer for the State Department of Transportation died Saturday March 29th, 2014 at Antelope Valley Hospital. He was 84.
Born in Fort Worth, Texas, he graduated from Indio High School and then served three years in the Navy as an electrician apprentice. Mr. Byrd worked as a Civil Engineer for CAL Trans in Transportation & Safety while residing in Lancaster, CA for over 40 years.
He was a member of the Elks Club and of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He enjoyed his hobbies sketching and painting, photography and Model Aeronautic competitions.
He has been preceded in death by his son Daniel L. Byrd and his grandson Shane A. Byrd and is survived by his children Karen Y. Langley of Ventura, CA, Mary K. Brinson of Rosamond, CA and Mark A. Byrd of Lancaster, CA as well as his grandchildren, great grandchildren and nephews and great nephews.
A Graveside Service will be offered at 11:00 Saturday April 12th at Joshua Memorial Park Located at 808 East Lancaster Blvd, Lancaster, CA 93535
