It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Linda Mae Denson on March 6, 2025 at home surrounded by her husband and daughters after a year long battle with lymphoma. Born in Lomita, CA on October 8, 1939, she spent her childhood in Lebec, CA with her parents and 2 brothers. She had a happy and active childhood tending to her brothers, riding her horse, playing piano and helping in her parents grocery store. She had to ride the bus to Bakersfield High and on those rides she kindled a romance with Lynwood Denson from Frazier Park. They were married December 7, 1957 and moved to Lancaster. Lynwood was a fireman for LACoFD and Linda was the secretary at Eldorado Elementary School. They raised their daughters, Diane, Judy, Carrie and Kelly and life was a whirlwind of school activities, waterskiing, snow skiing and camper trips.
Linda was a member of the PTA, LACoFD Battalion 11 Women’s Auxiliary, Zonta and her ladies travel club. She traveled all over the United States to trap shoots with Lynwood in the motorhome, winning several awards. With her ladies travel group she traveled the world, going to all of the continents except Africa and Antarctica. She loved nature, exploring the world, shopping and her friends and family.
Linda was predeceased by her parents, Evan and Alberta Adams, and her brother Richard. She is survived by her devoted husband, Lynwood, her daughters, Diane Furukawa (Noboru), Judy Spencer, Carrie Omiotek (Adam) and Kelly Kurian.
