Patricia, known for her big heart and infectious smile, was a devoted individual who always prioritized her family. Her unwavering faith in God was reflected in her actions, as she selflessly helped those in need. She had a passion for traveling with loved ones, especially to Disneyland, and adored all things Disney and Hello Kitty. Patricia was also an animal lover, particularly fond of her numerous cats throughout her life.
In her career, Patricia worked as a Social Worker from 1967 to 1972 before dedicating the majority of her professional life as a paraeducator. She served the Lancaster School District from 1983 to 2005, working closely with Special Education students whom she cherished. Later, she transitioned to the Antelope Valley Union High School District, continuing her role as a paraeducator in moderate to severe special education classrooms until her retirement in 2015.
Outside of work, Patricia enjoyed hobbies such as scrapbooking, traveling, walking, spending time with loved ones, and watching her favorite TV shows, including Jeopardy.
She is survived by her daughter, Lori Baumgartner, son-in-law Daniel Baumgartner, sister Betty Harper, nieces Cynthia [Daniel] Signett, Chery [Mark] Parker, and Caryn [Larry] Frybarger. Patricia was preceded in death by her husband, Rex Hanson, Father Thomas Thompson, Mother, Myrtle Thompson, Brother Thomas Thompson Jr, and Brother Larry Thompson.
A service to honor and remember Patricia will be held at Joshua Memorial Mortuary and Park in Lancaster, CA, on May 25, 2024, at 9:30am, with a graveside service to follow at 10:30am.
