Robert Louis Turner was born on May 2, 1935 in Bolton, Mississippi where he spent his early childhood, received his primary education and graduated from Tougaloo College High School on May 22, 1953.
In 1954, Robert enlisted in the United States Air force where he traveled the world and was awarded several honors and achieved various academic milestones throughout his 22-year career.
He married the lovely Myrtle Daniels on December 25, 1957, the love of his life, whom he affectionately called Maxine and raised 6 children. They remained married until his earthly departure.
Being the professional and meticulous man that he was, he went on to perfect his craft as an aircraft flight test engineer, where he was able to achieve a second retirement from the Civil Service Army division at Edwards Air Force Base.
Robert enjoyed road trips in his Cadillac, fishing, bowling watching sports with his children and playing pinochle and blackjack with his friends. He had a love for Jazz and Motown music and his singing voice could rival that of Nat King Cole.
