

Rosa Thomas was born on March 28, 1943 in Lake Charles, Louisiana to Layton Sr., and Elnora Andrus. She was the fourth of six children. Rosa along with her parents and three older siblings Layton Jr., Jessie, and Irene moved from Louisiana to Los Angles, California in 1945.
Rosa accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. She attended elementary in Los Angeles, California and graduated from Fremont High School in 1961. Rosa met Benjamin Thomas and they married on September 8, 1961, to this union two daughters were born Rosalind, and Roschell.
Rosa worked two jobs for several years; she was a teacher assistant at 109th Street School and a Technical Inventory Engineer at Xerox Corporation until she retired in 1985. Post retirement, she moved to Littlerock, CA to become a caregiver to her mother, until her mother Elnora Andrus passed away in 2000. After the passing of her mother, she continued caring for her grandchildren and great grandchildren until herilnness no longer allowed.
Her husband Benjamin (Ben) Thomas; Her father and mother Layton Sr., and Elnora Andrus; and three older siblings Layton jr., Jessie and sister/best friend Irene all precedes her in death.
Rosa leaves to cherish her memory one brother, DR E.M. Abdulmumin, Ph.D, and one sister, Linda Andrus-Meyers, her children, Rosalind Thomas and Roschell Taylor, son-in-law Clarence Nelson Sr. Her eight grandchildren Tamashina (Boodie), Shawanda, Startina, Clarence Jr., Daniel and wife Shanna, Rosa, Leroy Jr., Keyanna. Eleven great grandchildren, Dave'Neisha, Zany's, Zed'Rick, Zai'yana, Noah, Messiah, Harmony, Easton, Royal, Prince, and Rielle, and a host of nephews, nieces, great nephews, and great nieces.
