Violet Elizabeth Davies Shively

Violet was born in Mancot, North Wales to Sarah Elizabeth Price and William Samuel Davies. She was raised by her aunt and uncle, Cecily Davies and William Roberts following her mother's death when she was four. She met her husband Wayne, when he was stationed in Sealand, North Wales and were married in Shotton, England on June 7th, 1952. Together they traveled with the US Air Force being stationed in England, Alabama, Kansas, Scotland and Edwards AFB, CA, finally retiring in California City, CA. She worked for 30+ years for the Child Development Center on Edwards AFB at one time being manager and then with the home day care program prior to her retirement.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father; aunt and uncle; brother William; sisters Jean, Glynis and Dorothy; daughter Susan Elizabeth; son Michael Dean and her husband of 62 years, Wayne Junior. She is survived by her daughter Lyn; grandchildren Christopher, Danielle, Clayton and Alexis; great grandchildren R.J., Madison, C.J., William, Draven, Elyjah, Axl and Elizabeth Violet due in January; sister Dilys; many nieces and nephews; as well as many close friends, especially Frieda Parker.

She enjoyed the Dodgers, the Galaxy and USC football. Services will be held on November 4th, 2016 at 11:00 am, with internment to follow at Bakersfield National Cemetery in Arvin, CA. Arrangements under the direction of Joshua Memorial Park & Mortuary, Lancaster, CA.
