Adelle, or “Neneng” as her loved ones called her, was born in Iloilo City, Philippines on April 4, 1992, the youngest of three daughters, to Drs. Arthur and Lorraine (Joven) del Rosario. The family relocated to New York when Neneng was a baby, where she enjoyed many winters playing in the snow with her older sisters, Angeli and Arlaine. The family relocated again to Las Vegas for her middle and high school years.
Neneng Adelle was a lover of music and the arts. She had quite an ear and was very talented in playing the piano and violin. She also loved to sing and dance. She liked a wide range of music - from classical Chopin, to modern video game jingles from Nintendo. She took ballet for many years and was naturally graceful and loved to dance.
Neneng Adelle spent most of her childhood playing with her sisters. She liked to spend her summers in the library, reading. She also liked watching movies and anime. After high school she enrolled in college at the University of North Texas, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. She then moved back to Las Vegas and was a teacher for many years. Her students would always remember her as kind and patient, yet also steadfastly encouraging them to do their best.
Much like her parents, Neneng was hit with the travel bug. She appreciated seeing different places and learning about different cultures. She visited numerous places in Mexico, including the pyramids at Chichen Itza. She spoke a fair amount of French and was only too happy to visit France itself. Neneng joined her parents in their Marian pilgrimage to Spain and even lead the prayers in the travel group. She also visited Portugal, Scandinavia, and Russia. Travelling to the Jordan River and floating in the Dead Sea was so much fun. But the most spiritual experience would have to be the excursion to Israel, visiting Jerusalem and giving thanks to God at the Western Wall.
Neneng was vivacious and humorous, yet introverted and introspective. She was an animal lover - from her childhood pet cockatiels, to her furbaby Baster, whom she would take on long walks around the lake. She liked nature and found joy in gardening. Neneng was the type of person who would smile serenely at the night sky, lost in her thoughts. We will always remember her calming presence and caring nature.
Neneng Adelle was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents Nazario and Eufemia, as well as her maternal grandfather Lorenzo. She leaves behind her parents Arthur and Lorraine, sisters Angeli and Arlaine, brother-in-law Steven, nephew Malky, and nieces Alee and Yanna. As well as her aunt Tina Lynn, uncle Vince, and grandma Lola Nanay.
When we think of our Neneng Adelle, we choose to celebrate the good memories we have of her. When we see a flower bloom in an unexpected place, or a butterfly seemingly appear out of nowhere, or smell a sudden waft of flowers when there are no flowers anywhere - perhaps this is Neneng saying hi. For now just rest in peace sweet girl. You know that we love you, and we know that God is keeping you safe. After all, “Adelle” means “God is eternal” in Hebrew. Thank you for all the memories; we will cherish them until we meet again.
Life is fragile and all too short. Enjoy your loved ones now, as we never have as much time as we think. A celebration of life will be held on Friday December 2, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Palm Downtown Mortuary, 1325 North Main St, Las Vegas, NV 89101, followed by a reception from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM.
