

Albert C. Iovinelli, a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, and respected businessman, passed away on January 16 in Las Vegas, Nevada surrounded by his children and grandchildren. He was 86 years old.
Albert (Al) was born in Chicago, IL on September 3, 1938, son of Carmine and Josephine Iovinelli (Sodaro). Albert is survived by his brother Carl, sister Carmella (Celenza), children Linda and Bob (Loper), Anthony and Jackie, Robert and Beth, and grandchildren Forrest (Rice), Westin (Rice), Connor, and Erin.
Albert grew up in a loving environment in Elmwood Park IL with his parents and grandparents Liborio and Antonina Sodaro. When he was a teenager Albert moved to Scottsdale, AZ where he graduated in 1956 from Scottsdale High School. Soon after high school, Albert enlisted in the US Air Force and served honorably from 1956-1960. During Albert’s service in the Air Force he was stationed at Prestwick RAF base Scotland, Burtonwood RAF base, and Mildenhall RAF base in the UK.
During his service at Burtonwood RAF base he met the love of his life Carol Christina (daughter of George and Dorothy Gidman) of Liverpool, England. Albert and Carol were married on December 5, 1959 in Liverpool England until her passing on December 2, 2008.
After his honorable discharge, Albert and Carol moved to Phoenix, AZ where they began a new life and started a family. After serving for a short time as a police officer in Phoenix, he discovered the opportunity to join New York Life Insurance Co. in 1966 and never looked back. Albert began his career as a Sales agent and was quickly promoted to Assistant Manager of the Phoenix office in 1967. Albert then accepted promotion to General Manager position in charge of the El Paso, TX regional office in 1971.
Albert loved his time with New York Life, and had a distinguished career with much recognition and many awards along the way. Albert was highly educated, and dedicated many days and nights studying to achieve the highest levels of education, including Certified Life Underwriter (CLU), Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC), Masters in Estate Planning and Taxation, Master of Science Financial Services degree. Albert retired with honor in 1994 as General Manager of the El Paso, TX regional office but continued to serve as a consultant to New York Life for some time.
After retirement, Albert and Carol moved to Las Vegas, NV in 1996. An avid golfer, Albert and Carol decided to build their new home on Painted Desert Golf Course.
Soon after settling into the new home, Albert fulfilled two visions: he founded the Painted Desert Men’s Golf Club, and The New York Life Retired Managers club. Both are still going strong today, and both clubs added great enjoyment to his retirement years.
Albert’s life was a testament to hard work, excellence, unwavering loyalty, friendship, and a deep love and dedication to his family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A Visitation for Albert will be held Tuesday, January 28, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, Funeral Service at 2:00 PM, Committal Service at 3:00 PM, and a reception to follow 3:30 - 5:30 PM. All events are at Palm Northwest Mortuary & Cemetery, 6701 N Jones Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89131.
