Alexander Wilfred Ow

Alex was born to Yong Woon and Suney Ow, in Paia, Maui. He graduated from Roosevelt HS in Honolulu, Hawaii and moved to California where completed his college studies at Fresno State University.

After graduation, he accepted a commission in the US Air Force. He served as a navigator/weapon systems officer in many aircraft including the F-4 and F-111. He served a year long combat tour of duty in the Vietnam war. He retired as a Lieutenant Colonel after 20 years of active duty service in 1977.

His interests were many: automotive repair, finance, sports. He opened Servicemen’s Automotive Repair. He excelled at the University of Hawai’i School of Business and received his MBA with Honors. A successful high school athlete, he was passionate about his children’s and grandchildren’s sports and athletic endeavors as well as proud of their educational and business successes.

He and Connie, his wife of 28 years, settled in Las Vegas in the mid 90s. Jim and Gueja (Connie’s sister) Adams were their constant companions during this time. Alex and Connie ran a business, C & E, for the next 10 years which required weekly road trips to Los Angeles.

He will be greatly missed by his wife, Connie, his children Cathy Ow (m. Roger Ashmore), Randy Ow (m. Jackie Ho), Ronnie Ow and Jenny Ow (m. Frank Newman), his brothers Gordon and Wellington Ow and sister Juliette Breazeal, and his grandchildren.

True to his nature, he enjoyed watching sports and checking his stocks until his peaceful passing.

His strong faith comforted him and his family. While his health hindered his ability to reach out to his friends and family, he always expressed how truly grateful he was for their love and support.

A visitation for Alexander will be held Saturday, May 13, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Palm South Jones Mortuary, 1600 South Jones Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89146, followed by a funeral service from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
