

Amanda Caralea Landis, age 25, of North Las Vegas, passed away on Sunday, September 8, 2013 in North Las Vegas. Born March 21, 1988 in NAS Lemoore, California, she has been a Las Vegas area resident for eleven years. Amanda graduated Durango High School in 2006 and UNLV 2010 in with a Bachelor's Degree in Kinesiology. She was in pursuit of a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. An avid fitness and wellness proponent, she competed in Gymnastics on the National Level and won many awards. She was also a fitness instructor for UNLV. She also worked with Paiute Golf Course as a server, was a master pumpkin carver and adored and collected various monkeys. Survivors include her mother, Jenice, twin brother Brent, brother Justin, paternal grandfather LTC. Charles Landis, US Army Retired, maternal grandmother Bonnie See, aunt Nancy Landis, uncle Doug Sneathen and aunt Deborah (Dan) Wehrle, and cousins Hope, Shawn and Patrick. Amanda was preceded in death by paternal grandmother Leatrice Landis and maternal grandparents Eugene Ross. A memorial service will be held at 2pm Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to The Amanda Landis Memorial Fund through any Navy Federal Credit Union, access number 739053.
