

Andrew was born on November 30, 1930 to John and Lucy Oku of Honolulu, HI. Andrew was very patriotic and voluntarily joined the military ranks as a young man. He fought held many roles over his 25 years of service, but most notably as a combat engineer in both the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He retired from the Marine Corps with many honors and commendations as a Gunnery Sergeant.
He met the love of his life Pearl Ginger Lee in Gardena, CA in 1984. They were married on December 28, 1984 and soon after and settled down in Lakewood, CA. They sold their home a few years later and moved to Oahu, HI for a couple of years to spend time with family and friends. The couple finally purchased their current home and settled down in the Las Vegas area.
Andrew and Pearl established one of the first Hawaiian restaurants in Las Vegas named the Hawaiian Hale. Andrew enjoyed good times cooking for his friends at the California Hotel, Las Vegas Club, and Fiesta. He loved to travel, go fishing, and especially the company of his dogs throughout his life. But most of all he loved his Ohana, his family.
He is survived by his wife of 28 years Pearl Ginger Oku

His stepchildren Pamela J. Lee, Patrick R. Lee
His Hanai Son and his wife Danny & Nancy Estocado

The memorial service will be held on February 9, 2013 at 3:00pm at Palm Mortuary 1600 S. Jones Blvd., Las Vegas, NV 89146. Arrangements under the direction of Palm South Jones Mortuary, Las Vegas, NV.
