Barbara J. Smith, 83, of Austin, Texas, passed away Nov. 12, 2012. She was a 25-year resident of Las Vegas. Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, of 52 years, Jack V. Smith; and son, Matthew D. Smith. She is survived by sons, Douglas M. Smith of Herndon, Va., and Rodford M. Smith of Austin; and six grandchildren. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m., Friday, Dec. 7, at Palm Memorial Park-Northwest, 6701 N. Jones Blvd., with Pastor Mose Henney of Lamb of God Lutheran Church officiating. Donations may be made to Dell Children's Medical Center, Austin/Children's Cancer and Blood Fund, attention Dellene Hornsby.
