

W. Ben Maze, aka: Ben Mazeroski, passed away June 9, 2025 in Las Vegas, NV. He was born November 17, 1937 in Cadiz, Ohio to Martha and Ben Mazeroski. In 1962, he moved to Las Vegas with his wife and two young sons, ages 3 and 5 years to find a better life for his family. Las Vegas was good to the Maze family and there was plenty of work and opportunity. In 1964, Ben bought the A & W Root Beer business at 13th and Charleston and subsequently constructed an A & W in Henderson, on Eastern Avenue and also one downtown on Las Vegas Boulevard, South. When these businesses sold, he acquired Valley Yamaha. He then took a sales position at Ad Art Sign company and became the manager. He then started Casino Signs, Inc. with his business partner, Mike Rogers. Casino Sign, Inc. was a sign company that serviced the casino industry interiors only. The company did major interior work for most of the casinos in Las Vegas, Atlantic City, Mississippi, Holland, South Africa, England, Germany and Australia with design and construction. Ben loved the challenge and the people he worked with.
Ben was a Charter Member of Spanish Trail Country Club and was past club president. He loved being a golf member, attending all the social events and spending time with all his wonderful friends. Ben was an avid supporter of the UNLV Rebel Golf Foundation. He was also a member of St. Joseph and Mary Catholic Church, Mason Lodge Scottish Rite, Zelzah Shrine-Jesters. Ben was preceded in death by his son, Michael and his loving wife of 61 years, Kay. He is survived by his son Ben B. (Cheryl).
