Brenda Joyce Howell

Brenda Joyce Howell was born January 7, 1948 to Willa and Leonard Hardy in Detroit, Michigan. She accepted Christ and was confirmed at Good Shepard Lutheran Church. Brenda was educated in the Detroit Public Schools, as well as attending Marygrove College. Brenda was employed for the Kmart Corporation, working in various buying/merchandising departments, retiring with over 35 years of service in 2001. After retiring, Brenda and her husband Ronald moved to Las Vegas where she enjoyed her beautiful home (guests always welcome). Brenda was an avid traveler, visiting many countries in Europe, Asia, Africa, the Caribbean, Mexico as well as Alaska and most recently for her 65th birthday to Hawaii. Brenda participated in several organizations: 100 Black Women, Red Hat, Detroit Connection, Bid Whist and Keno social clubs. She enjoyed selling her Princess House products, and hitting her slot plays at Rampart Casino. Brenda attended Shadow Hills Church in Las Vegas. Brenda made her transition on Wednesday, February 27, 2013 in Las Vegas; her parents, Willa and Leonard Hardy, and her sister, Gayle Hardy preceded her in death. Brenda leaves to mourn and to cherish her memory: her devoted husband, Ronald Howell; loving daughter, Nechelle Hollins; and son, Ronald Howell II (Shanrica); adorable grandchildren, Jordan Pettus, Nathan, Sydney, and Jayden Howell; supportive sister, Lynn McLeod; and a host of relatives and friends.
