Carol Joy Daugherty

Carol Joy Daugherty, 68, of Las Vegas, NV, passed away on Wednesday, October 2, 2024. Carol was born on July 2, 1956 in Sioux City, IA. In 1960 her family moved to Santa Maria, CA where Carol spent her childhood. In 1973 her family relocated to Las Vegas. Carol graduated from Clark High School. She moved to El Paso, TX in the 80’s and then back to Las Vegas. Carol worked for the General Adjustment Bureau where she held several different clerical positions. Carol went on to work for and retire from the State of Nevada. She went above and beyond, with each of the positions she held there, and was honored as Employee of the Year. As a child, Carol enjoyed ballet and piano. Later in life, she continued to enjoy dancing and rocking out to music. Her passions also included bowling, skiing, being in the movies as “an extra” and her most important passion was for her family.

Carol was preceded in death by her father Howard and sister Sherri. She is survived by her significant other Carl Mangar of 19 years; children Brooke (Joe) and Jason; mother Marilyn; sister Julie (Howard); grandson Miles; niece Heather (Danny) and great niece Iris; many cousins and life long friends.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, October 7, 2024 at Palm Northwest Cemetery, 6701 N Jones Blvd.,. Las Vegas, NV 89131.

Carol will be remembered as a kind and caring woman and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
