Charles Alvin Taylor

Charles Alvin Taylor age 81 was known to be called Abby and to his nieces and nephew Uncle Abby, or just Uncle. Charles was born in Buffalo, New York. Charles passed the morning of August 3,2022. Charles was the fifth child born to his parents. Charles attended his elementary education and church at St Mary Roman Catholic church where he graduated and began attending Seneca Vocational school for young boys.

As a young boy Charles, participated in the neighborhood annual parade as one of the drummers in the marching band. Charles later went on to sing as the proud baritone in a group at the neighborhood weekly talent shows.

Charles spent time in the army and was active in Vietnam where he served and received several awards to include an honorable discharge.

Charles belonged to the Cement Mason Union for 20 years. where he retired from two years after relocating his family to Las Vegas.

Charles never met a stranger and no matter who asked how he was doing his response was always "hanging in there". This became his response to all the health professionals that cared for him and about him, no matter how much pain he was in when they asked how he was doing his response was "hanging in there."

To his family he was always the go to person for the fun and the truth. Charles never hesitated to provide direction and wisdom to his family, friends, and country.

Charles was predeceased by his older brothers, Hilton Carter, Israel Kit, Melvin Taylor, his only sister Marie Mostiller, Younger brother James Bevill.

Charles leaves behind to share in his home coming, Emma his wife of 45 years, Abby Luv his daughter and Charles's best friend, Abby's partner Jovon Lorenzo, the youngest brother Joseph Bevill and wife Debbie and a great gift to his life of being an uncle to all his nieces, nephews, and friends.

A graveside service for Charles will be held Saturday, August 13, 2022,11:00 AM at Palm Northwest Cemetery, 6701 North Jones Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89131. Following the graveside service will be a reception from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM at Palm Northwest Mortuary, 6701 North Jones Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89131.
