

Cleo Jeanette (Murrell) Fermo was born in Sikeston, Missouri on September 13, 1938 and passed away on May 4, 2017 at the age of 78. She is survived by her fiance Robert "Bob" Laskey, sisters-in-law Irene Murrell and Peggy Murrell, 6 nephews, 10 nieces and their families. She was preceded in death by her father, Mick Murrell, who was born in Tennessee, her mother, Cleo (Fuller) Murrell, who was born in Indiana, and by brothers Dick and Don, sisters Francis and Adell, and George Fermo. Aunt Jeanette moved with her family to California in 1942 and lived in Pasadena and Azusa. Jeanette started work at Beneficial Finance Co. in 1956 and later went to work for Bank of America where she retired in 1994. Jeanette married Jim Crouse in 1960 and was married for 12 years. She married George Fermo in 1977. She met Bob Laskey in 2006 at water arobics in Las Vegas, Nevada, and was engaged to him in 2007. They lived together in Las Vegas until her death in 2017. Jeanette loved music and Tom Jones was her favorite singer. Along with the good food found in casinos, Jeanette enjoyed playing slot machines. She also loved spending time at Mt. Charleston in Nevada. She liked to travel to California where she spent time at family events including family Christmases. Jeanette was kind and loving, and loved by all. Her smile was contagious.She will be missed by all of us.
Arrangements for Jeanette were handled under the direction of Palm Cheyenne Mortuary, Las Vegas, NV. Burial arrangements were handled by Oakdale Memorial Park and Mortuary in Glendora, Ca. Graveside services will be held on July 1, 2017 at 11:00 am, 1401 S. Grand Ave. Glendora, Ca. 91740 Melinda (Mistretta) Rutherford will preside at the service. Sharing your favorite memories will be welcome at that time. There will be a reception following.
