Born and raised in Streator, Illinois, Connie was a graduate of Streator High School and Illinois Valley Community College. She would spend much of her life helping others in the medical and wellness fields, her big heart and warm spirit calming all those in her chair or on her table. Living adventurously across the western USA, Connie never abandoned the spirit of the ‘70s and continued to chase dreams, stars, peace and rainbows throughout her life.
Connie’s singular passion were her children and grandchildren. Through them, she was fueled by love, contentment and pride. She is survived by her children: Kurt Solon, Kelli Sexton and Kari Whisman; grandchildren, Ian Sexton, Dylan Whisman, Oliver Sexton and Finn Sexton; and her siblings, Ray Devera, Dan Devera and Cindi Essman. Connie was preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Edith Devera with whom she is assuredly enjoying a White Sox game at Comiskey Park at the time of this announcement.
In keeping with her wishes, the family will honor Connie’s life privately, and no formal services are planned.
