Dana Martin, 69, passed away on Feb. 15, 2026, while residing in Noble, Okla. Dana was born in Belen to Bill and Bonnie Martin on Nov. 13, 1956. She was a handicapped child during a time when there was not much awareness of special needs. It wasn't until 1975, with the passage of the Education for All Handicapped Children Act, that she was able to attend public schools at the age of 18, and was so excited when she got to walk with the graduating class of 1978. Dana would go on to work at El Camino Real and the Bargain Square thrift stores in Belen. She participated in Special Olympics both in Belen and in Yuma, Ariz. She played basketball and Boccie ball and loved to bowl. Her parents were snowbirds, who spent their winters in Yuma, Ariz., where she volunteered at the Yuma Regional Medical Hospital for many years. Dana lived a full and beautiful life. She was a kind and gentle soul. She loved music and she loved to dance. Above all, she loved the Lord. Dana is preceded in death by her loving parents. She is survived by her brother and his wife, Dennis and Debra Martin, of Noble, Okla.; her sister, Brenda Summers, of Las Vegas, Nev.; nephew, Dustin Martin (Teresa); nieces, Shelly Martin, Crystal Summers, Megan Hardinger (Ethan); many great nieces and nephew, and her oldest and dearest friend, Mark Kearns of Los Lunas. A visitation will be held at McMahan Funeral Home in Noble, Okla., with a graveside service and a burial at Palm Northwest Cemetery in Las Vegas, Nev.
