Daniel Benavides was born in Las Vegas on November 21, 1997 to his loving parents, Leonardo Benavides and Maria Luisa Chavez De Benavides. Daniel was the brightest young adult you could ever meet - he had a hunger for knowledge and was always curious about the world around him. No subject, from religion to politics, was too taboo for him to have a deep, meaningful discussion with the people he loved. He was active at Mojave High School, where he participated in the Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps, and undoubtedly had a bright future ahead of him. Growing up, he dreamed of becoming a scientist and only recently shifted his focus towards becoming a lawyer. In his spare time, Daniel loved to work out at the gym, play with his dogs, watch movies, and attend wrestling shows with his brother. Daniel passed away September 1, 2015 near his home in North Las Vegas at the age of 17. He is survived by his father Leonardo, mother Maria Luisa, and brothers Leonardo and Adrian Benavides, as well as his many grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins spread throughout Las Vegas, El Paso, Texas, and Ciudad Juarez, Mexico. Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 12, 2015 at St. John Neumann Roman Catholic Church, 2575 W. El Campo Grande Ave., North Las Vegas, NV 89031.
