

Darla M. (maiden name Wilson) Ball, was born on July 16, 1973 at Valley Presbyterian Hospital in Van Nuys, CA. Darla was raised in North Hollywood & Lompoc, CA. Darla passed away on June 27, 2010 at the home in Las Vegas, NV. Darla fought bravely against cancer for over 2 years. She is survived by her husband Matthew, her brother Marcus Wilson and his wife Tayna, her sister Maya, Matthew's parents, Sam and Ruby Ball, sister in law Donna Merk and her husband Eric, brother in law Jimmy Carl, nieces Allie and Amanda, nephews Jeremy, Brandon, Stefan and Daniel, Aunts Colette, Nancy,Ruby Jean and her Uncle Dan.
Darla's primary occupation was in real estate, sales and marketing.
Darla had a broad variety of activities in her life, taking the opportunity to pursue numerous hobbies. Darla's passion was her love of horses. She took part in horse back riding, dressage, horse jumping. Darla's memorable achievements included winning several ribbons in dressage and horse jumping shows, showing her horse in dressage events.
Darla had a talent for making new friends and acquaintances. She was sociable, easy to get to know because of her genuine interest in others. She was assertive, outgoing, and loved life.
Darla always made herself available, willing to join in and help out, regularly getting involved in community activities, including, planning and improvisation, with a talent for rallying support from her friends. Darla was an active member of several community groups, including:The Caring Place, a support group for cancer survivors.
Darla was raised as a Christian, she was spiritual, dedicated and devoted to her faith, and a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.
Darla's ingenuity, resourcefulness, earned her accolades for her many lifelong efforts, awards included winning numbers, in sales and company achievements. Darla enjoyed the outdoors, nature and the enjoyment of traveling. Her favorite places included Kauai, Hawaii; the island where she and Matthew married on November 19, 2006. Other places included, Arizona, Utah, and the California beaches, including Pismo Beach.
Darla was very passionate for the love she had for her pets. Her horse Classy "Class Act" was rescued from hurricane Katrina. Her Cocker Spaniel, "Cinnamon", was her best friend for 10 years but unfortunately passed away from a blood disease in August 2009. Her Sheppard mix, "Princess" was with Darla for 17 years, she too, passed away in the early part of 2009. Then in January 2010, Darla rescued a silky terrier that had been abandoned and was walking the busy streets of Las Vegas, Darla named her "Tinker bell".
Darla will be remembered for her beauty, her smile, her laughter and her love for her husband, family, friends and animals.
Memorial services were held at Palm Mortuary (Northwest) on July 2nd, 2010 at 10:00 am.
