August 12, 1970 – September 20, 2025
Dave Sharapan, husband, father, son, brother, friend, and known to many as “The Consig,” passed away peacefully on September 20, 2025, in Las Vegas, surrounded by love, at the age of 55.
Born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Dave grew up with a deep love for sports, storytelling, and community, things that he would carry through his entire life. After studying at Penn State, he followed his passion into the world of sports betting, eventually making a name for himself in Las Vegas. Over the years, he worked at some of the city’s most iconic sportsbooks, becoming a trusted voice in an industry that rarely stands still.
But Dave wasn’t just a bookmaker, he was a communicator. Whether behind the counter, on a podcast, or live on-air, he had a gift for breaking things down in a way that made people feel like they were part of the conversation. His signature phrases “Nobody knows shit,” “Always forward, never straight,” and “The kids know” became some of his favorite things to say, reminders to stay humble, keep asking questions, and never pretend to have all the answers.
What mattered most to Dave, though, wasn’t the spotlight or the odds, it was his family. He was a devoted husband to Jessica Sharapan, and the proud father of three daughters: Kylie, Kelsey, and Kendyl, who were the absolute light of his life. He was also known for giving the best hugs, the kind that made you feel safe, loved, and never alone.
He was preceded in death by his father, Elliott Sharapan. Survived by his wife and daughters; his mother, Nancy Sharapan; and his siblings: Dan (Joanna) Sharapan, Doug Sharapan, Dena (Brian) Davis, and Dara Parsons. He was a proud uncle to several nieces and nephews, who he loved dearly.
He also leaves behind a wide circle of family, friends, colleagues, listeners, and fans who knew him not just for what he did, but for how he made them feel seen, heard, and supported.
In true Dave fashion, the family kindly requests that you wear jerseys and hats of all kinds to the services, a nod to his love of sports, his signature style, and the way he brought people together. No need for black suits or dresses unless that’s your game. Just come as you are, and rep what you love. The family invites you to honor Dave in the way he lived, by sharing a good story, checking in on someone, or simply taking a moment to listen.
