David Lewis, a beloved man of faith, devoted husband, proud veteran, and cherished pillar of his family and community, passed away peacefully at the age of 94. His life was marked by kindness, service, and an unwavering devotion to God and family.
David was united in marriage to his beloved wife, Cleo Lewis, for 59 wonderful years. Though Cleo preceded him in death a few years ago, their bond remained unbroken—a lifelong love rooted in faith, respect, and devotion. Together, they built a legacy grounded in compassion, generosity, and strong family values.
A proud veteran of the United States Air Force, David honorably served his country for 30 years before retiring. His dedication to service continued throughout his life. He later retired from Nevada Power and from both the Salvation Army and Montessori, where he faithfully served as a counselor for drug addiction, offering guidance, hope, and encouragement to those in need.
David was the last surviving of eight siblings and carried the love of his family with him always. He cherished his sisters-in-law—Romal Walker, Elizabeth Simmons, and Sue Perkins—as his own sisters. He shared a close, brotherly bond with his brothers-in-law, Earl Simmons and Russell Perkins. He was a loving uncle to many nieces and nephews across Pennsylvania, Louisiana, Dallas, Huston and California, caring for them as his own children and always making sure they felt supported and loved.
A lifelong member of his church, David was deeply admired and respected by many. He was a genuinely kind and gentle soul, known for his devotion to God and his constant commitment to good deeds. He gave generously to organizations that supported children and families, believing strongly in giving back and helping those in need.
David believed wholeheartedly in family values and lived them daily—quietly, faithfully, and selflessly. He was a provider, protector, and steady presence whose love reached across generations. His legacy of faith, service, and unconditional love will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
