David L. Mundo, 82, of Las Vegas, passed away Wednesday, May 31, 2023. David was born December 06, 1940, on the Island of Rota in the Northern Marianas. At a young age, he lived in Rota and then moved to the island of Guam and graduated high school. At 26 years old, he met his wife, Patricia Mundo. They fell in love and got married on June 05, 1967. After having six children in Guam, the family moved to San Diego, CA, to start a new life. David and Patricia lived in San Diego for a year, and then they decided to move their family to Las Vegas, NV.
Once the Mundo family settled in Las Vegas, David went to a trade school to become a slot technician, but because of family obligations, David couldn’t finish his schooling and decided to work as a Porter at the Circus Circus casino and stayed there for over twenty years. David was a very hardworking man, and he retired at 65 years old. Once retired, he spent time with his ever-growing family of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
David loved to spend time with his family, and he loved his coffee. You could bet on finding him with coffee in his favorite cup, either watching the news, WWE on Mondays and Fridays with his wife Patricia, or every so often watching a boxing match with his grandson Kevin and son David. He also loved to tell his grandchildren and great-grandchildren stories of his life, whether it was his time in Guam, or during his tenure at Circus Circus, or telling them about the pride he took in the vehicles he owned and how he would always keep them clean and maintained, especially his infamous yellow Cadillac. David also loved his siblings, nieces, nephews, in-laws, friends, and all who would come to visit and spend time.
David is survived by his wife, Patricia Mundo. 4 sons; David Mundo, Brian Mundo, Glenn Mundo, and Wayne Mundo. 2 daughters, Debra Mundo and Sandra Rodriguez. 14 grandchildren, which consist of 10 Boys: Kevin Mundo, Jonathan Mundo, Daniel Mundo, Glenn Mundo Jr., Jacob Sain, Joseph Gioiosa, Anthony Gioiosa, David Mundo III, Kyle Barker, and Jacob Fenison. And, 4 Girls: Vanessa Palacios, Aja Mundo, Destinee Gioiosa, and Siam Mundo, and 25 great-grandchildren. David is also survived by his siblings; Teresita Anderson, Lidia Bowers, and Martin Mundo.
A visitation for David will be held Friday, June 16, 2023 from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Palm Downtown Mortuary, 1325 North Main St, Las Vegas, NV 89101, followed by a funeral service from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
