

David Albert Stoika, of Reno, passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2013. He was born Nov. 10, 1953, in Detroit. David and his family moved to Las Vegas in 1954, where his most cherished childhood friendships began and continued until his death. He graduated in 1971 from Votech High School in Henderson. He worked in the gaming industry for over a decade. He then started a new career in construction which lasted 25 years. David lived in Las Vegas until he married his wife, Kelli Fields, in 1996 and moved to Reno. He became a flooring installation journeyman in Reno and joined Union 567. David is survived by his wife, Kelli; mother, Margaret; son, Max; daughter, Hayley; sisters, Cheryl and Sandra; and niece, Kara. Memorial services were at 1 p.m., Saturday, March 30, at Trinity Episcopal Church, 200 Island Ave., Reno. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m., Wednesday, April 3, at Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., Las Vegas. Burial following at Palm Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests you make a donation to your local ASPCA in honor of David's love of animals or your choice of charity.
