

Deloras Kay Webb passed away Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2011. Deloras, Dodo to her many friends, spent most of her life in Las Vegas. She was born in Shawnee, Okla., Sept. 26, 1939. Her parents, the late Roy K. Parrish and the late Lilola Trousdale Parrish, moved to Las Vegas in 1941.
Deloras graduated from Las Vegas High School in 1957. She grew up with Las Vegas, working many years in the resort industry at the Aladdin, the Dunes and the Sands. In 1980, she left Las Vegas and spent several happy years in Nashville, Tenn., married to Jim Webb, the bus driver and bodyguard for Loretta Lynn.
After returning to Las Vegas, she worked for several years before leaving to enjoy retirement. Deloras would light up any place she entered. Her one of a kind personality and love of life will always be remembered by the family and friends who love her.
Deloras was preceded in death by her parents; and her sister, MaryJane VanDuren. She is survived by her children, Brent Bean of Las Vegas, and Shanna Sorkness of Tacoma, Wash.; her brothers, Kenneth Parrish and Roy Parrish, both of Las Vegas; her grandchildren, Mason Bean, Stephanie Bean, Ashley Bean, Bradley Belikove, all of Las Vegas, and Trevor Sorkness of Tacoma; her son-in-law, Michael Sorkness of Tacoma; her niece, Amanda Parrish of Las Vegas; and her nephews, Brian Lowe and Bradley Lowe of Las Vegas, and Scott Parrish of Auduban, N.J.; and her sisters-in-law, Mayra Parrish and Miriam Parrish; and brother-in-law, John VanDuren, all of Las Vegas.
A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 12, at Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Safe Nest women's shelter.
