Delores Ann Shimkin

Delores Ann Shimkin Loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. Delores Ann Shimkin, 61, passed away August 27th, 2014. She was born March 15, 1953 in Buffalo, New York, the youngest of four children, her surviving siblings are Mary Ann Scholl, Michael Scholl and Margaret Scholl.

Delores Moved to Las Vegas in August of 1979 with her 2 children, and her then husband (Eugene H.Kaleta ) Delores worked most of her life in the casino industry where she had a very successful career ,starting with the legendary Sands casino where she worked for almost 20 years.

Delores also spent many years employed at the Luxor, Bellagio and Golden Nugget. Delores was extremely well known for her contagious smile and extraordinary way she touched others with her kindness and friendliness, people just could not help being drawn to her.

Above all Delores had an endless love for her Husband , Leonard Marc Shimkin and her children, Son, Eugene M Kaleta daughter in law, Carmella Randazzo. Daughter , Sherry M Harvey , son in law Aaron F Harvey and 13 grandchildren, Andreanna, Alexandria, Eugene J., John, Ethan, Christian, Zack, Angelica, Anthony, Alyssa, Athena, Aaron Jr., and Sebastian, as well as her Great Grandchild, Mia.

Delores had an extreme love for her Dogs that she considered her babies, Bandit, Rocky, Boo, Veronica, Scarlett, Sky, Trouble, Diamond, Sim, Capone, Star and her Turtle Mr. Ish.

The family has lost the foundation and Pillar of the family, she will be forever missed and never forgotten. It would take the pages of a dictionary to list all of her family as well as the friends that she made throughout her life. The impact of losing her is truly immeasurable.

Family and Friends will be gathering at Palm Mortuary and Cemetery – 7600 S. Eastern Ave. on Friday September 5th – The viewing will be at 9:00 am – 11:00 am, the service will begin at 11:00 am
