

Delores Elizabeth Yvonne McKenzie Singleton was born on December 27, 1940, in Jacksonville, Florida, to Charles McKenzie and Ambrose Green. She was raised and educated in Jacksonville, graduating from Stanton High School before continuing her studies at New York University, Edward Waters College, and Florida A&M University, where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Home Economics and Science in 1963.
While at Florida A&M, she met and later married the love of her life, Isaac Singleton, in August 1964. Together, they were blessed with three children: Clinita, Isaac Jr., and Brian.
Delores dedicated her life to education, teaching in multiple states and abroad, including Florida, Texas, Germany, and Las Vegas. She earned her Master of Education from the University of Tampa in 1979 and went on to serve as a passionate educator for over 20 years, retiring from Cheyenne High School in 2005.
A proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, Delores was also deeply committed to her faith and community. She served her church faithfully in many roles, including Deacon and Usher, always giving her time and love to others.
Delores will be remembered for her grace, strength, and unwavering devotion to her family and faith.
She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted husband, Isaac Singleton; her daughter and son-in-law, Clinita and Mike Lynch; her son, Isaac C. Singleton Jr.; her son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Adria Singleton; her beloved granddaughters, Christina and Makayla Lynch; and a host of family and friends.
