

Visitation will be 10:00 am Wednesday, August 24, 2022 at Palm Northwest Mortuary.
Funeral services will be held 12:00 noon, Wednesday August 24, 2022 at Palm Northwest Mortuary. Burial will follow at Palm Northwest Cemetery. Arrangements are by Palm Nortwest Mortuary.
Doris Evelyn Lockhart was born on September 11, 1934, in Texarkana Arkansas. She was the oldest of five children in the union of Theodore Wheeler Sr. and Dollie Louise Wheeler. She was an avid reader of the Bible and accepted Christ as her personal Savior as a youth. She was baptized at St. John Missionary Baptist Church in Richmond CA. and found comfort as a member of Word of Life Church in Las Vegas, NV.
Doris Evelyn was raised in Richmond CA. and graduated from Harry Ells High School. She met and married Lorenzo Lockhart on April 5, 1955 in Richmond, CA. To this union two children were born, Rhonda Joyce Bond and Denise Michele Fisher.
Doris Evelyn worked as an Accountant for the Naval Supply Center in Oakland California for 40 years. During her career she was recognized for her outstanding performance and earned a Special Act Award for a job well done by Captain Commanding Officer of the Naval Supply Center. Doris loved to travel and drive. She would take many trips driving to visit family members in various states. Doris Evelyn had a warm and loving heart and everyone always enjoyed her company. She had many friends and will be missed.
Doris Evelyn is preceded by death by parents Dollie and Theodore Wheeler Sr., sisters: Mittie A. Cherry, Cynthia K Libran, Edyth Jones, and Brother: Theodore Wheeler Jr.
Doris Evelyn is survived by daughters: Rhonda Joyce Bond (Las Vegas NV), and Denise Michele Fisher (Atlanta GA), granddaughters Lauren West (Las Vegas NV), Jalei Hawkins (Concord CA), grandson: Brandon Muhammad (Patterson CA), great granddaughters and great grandsons, Amir Muhammad, Najah Muhammad, Ahsan Muhammad, Ashlin Demayo, Sophia Demayo & Delani Demayo; aunt: Berthelmes Bursey (Texarkana AR), and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
