Ernest Daniel Hagewood

Ernest Daniel Hagewood, 88 years old, entered into eternal peace on Thursday, April 11, 2013. Born and raised in rural TN, he's the oldest of 9 children. After joining the Navy during the WWII, he met and married the love of his life Maria Lugardita "Lou" Vigil. In their 69 year blissful marriage they've proudly raised 3 sons & 2 daughters and lovingly gained 3 daughter-in-laws and 2 son-in-laws. They took joy in watching their 12 grandchildren grow and have 19 great grandchildren they cherish dearly. In 1962 he moved and built a home for his family in Las Vegas, where he worked as a carpenter and retired as the Construction Supervisor at Hilton Hotels. In his free time he loved traveling, with his wife Lou, in their RV looking for the best fishing holes and hunting spots all while making new friends along the way. His loving, kind, unselfish ways left everyone he met feeling more like they were family than a friend. He could put a smile on anyone's face, and he always made sure of it. Ernest has always been & will always be a role model for his family and all who have had the privilege to know him. He will be missed dearly by so many but no more than the person who has always loved him the most, his beloved soulmate Lou. We love you Ernest Daniel Hagewood and you'll always be our hero! Services begin at 11:00 am on Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at Palm Downtown Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., Las Vegas, NV with visitation from 9:00-11:00 am.
