Esther Barreto - Romero

Esther Barreto (Romero) – Mama Esther, Doña Esther, Tere, Mamei, passed away October 15, 2017 at the age of 78. Esther entered into rest peacefully surrounded by her family. She was born December 2, 1938 in Jamay Jalisco, Mexico, to Manuel (Nelito) Barreto and Eulalia (YaYa) Rojas. She attended school in her home town where she graduated from the sixth grade and soon after, began teaching kindergarten. Esther was married to Jose Romero, the love of her life, in 1957 and widowed in 1976. With strength and courage, she was able to raise six remarkable children on her own. Esther worked very hard to provide a stable home for her children. She was a hard working woman, who rarely complained and always gave you her honest opinion. Esther opened her home too many, and until her passing, donated to a variety of charities. She enjoyed watching television, gambling, and eating sweets and Cheerios. Esther was a loving mother, grandmother and person, who without any effort, managed to make you laugh. Esther leaves her last living sister, Concepcion Barreto, her six beloved children: Jose Luis, Maria Del Carmen, Maria Esther, Francisco Javier, Juan Carlos, and Arturo Romero, her eighteen grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews to cherish her loving memory. Esther Barreto (Romero) - Mamá Esther, Doña Esther, Tere, Mamei, falleció el 15 de octubre, 2017 a la edad de 78 años. Esther entró a la paz eterna pacíficamente rodeada de su familia. Nació el 2 de diciembre de 1938 en Jamay Jalisco, México, de Manuel (Nelito) Barreto y Eulalia "YaYa" Rojas. Asistió a la escuela en su ciudad natal, donde se graduó de sexto grado y poco después, comenzó a dar clases de kínder. En 1957 se casó con José Romero, el amor de su vida, quien falleció en 1976. Tuvo el coraje, amor y valentía, para ella sola criar a sus seis hijos y hacer de ellos personas de bien. Esther trabajó duramente para proveer un hogar estable para sus hijos. Ella fue una mujer trabajadora, que pocas veces se quejaba y siempre hablaba con honestidad y claridad. Ella le tendió la mano a muchas personas, abriendo las puertas de su casa. Hasta su fallecimiento, donó a una variedad de organizaciones benéficas. Disfrutaba viendo televisión, jugando y comiendo dulces, sobre todo Cheerios. Esther fue una persona amada que, sin esfuerzo, nos hacía reír. Le sobreviven su única hermana, Concepción Barreto, sus seis hijos amados: José Luis, María del Carmen, María Esther, Francisco Javier, Juan Carlos y Arturo Romero, dieciocho nietos, seis bisnietos y muchos sobrinos y sobrinas que siempre amaran su recuerdo.
