

Farrell M. Gallagher, age 90 passed away on Saturday, August 24, 2019 at his home in Las Vegas. Red, as he was known to his friends was born in Anaconda, Montana where he excelled as a high school athlete captaining the football, basketball and baseball teams as well as student body President.
Red attended Carroll College in Helena, Montana prior to joining the Navy and serving as a Sea-Bee. During his time in the Navy Sea-Bee’s, Red was a participant in what at that time was one of the largest construction projects in the world, the construction of the US Naval base at Cubi Point. It was at this time Red met the love of his life, Judith Wyce. Red and Judy were wed in 1954, moving to Las Vegas in 1965 where they raised their 4 children while Red worked at the Nevada Test Site before retiring in 1992. Red will be remembered as a humble kind giant of a man, loving husband and caring father.
Red was preceded in death by his wife Judith and his younger brother Tom Gallagher. Red is survived by his older sister Maureen Lear and younger sister Cait Francisco as well as four children, Mike, Terence, Kerry, Amy, their spouses and six grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at St. Francis de Sales Catholic church at 1111 N Michael Way at 3pm on Friday, August 30th with burial services at a later date at the VA cemetery in Boulder City.
