

Mrs. Frances Washington Ward was born on January 10, 1933 in South Carolina, to the late David Washington, Sr. and Elease Branch Washington. She was the second oldest of nine children, and she departed this life on Monday, February 4, 2013, after a long illness.
In 2002, Mrs. Ward relocated to Las Vegas, Nevada, and joined the First A.M.E. Church where she was a devoted member of the Stewardess Board, an Honorary Parliamentarian for the Missionary Society, and a member of the Hospitality Committee.
Mrs. Ward was a loving, caring, and devoted mother, sister, and friend who loved people, loved life and loved the Lord.
Her oldest sister, Annie Washington Victor, and her youngest sister, Marilyn Washington Kirby-Cooper, preceded Mrs. Ward in death in 2009.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories her two sons, Willie J.Ward, Jr. and Deacon Gregory Ward (Missionary Patricia Ward); four sisters, Susie Isaac, Helen Cooke (Collins), Delores Isaac (Julius), and Gloria Snowden (Archie); two brothers, David Washington, Jr. and Douglas Washington (Martha); six grandchildren, Jerome, Nicole, and Theo Rogers, Greshana and Grenasia Frances Ward, and Paul Martin(Laury); one aunt, Annie Washington Reese; and many, many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, other loving relatives and caring friends which includes a very special friend, Ruby Peters, all of whom will miss her dearly.
A visitation will be Tuesday, February 12 from 4-7:00pm at Palm Mortuary, 1600 South Jones Boulevard, Las Vegas, Nevada, 89146. Funeral services will be Wednesday, February 13 at 12:00pm at the First African Methodist Episcopal Church, 2446 Revere St, North Las Vegas, NV 89030. Mrs. Ward final resting place will be at the Hamden Plains Cemetery in Hamden, Connecticut.
