

Frank Mario Guiffreda, 93, passed away on May 28, 2013. He was born in Brooklyn, New York on September 27, 1919. He was a longshoreman and machinist at Cameron Machine Co. in his Brooklyn years. Frank served as a sergeant in the U.S. Army during WWII. When he relocated with his family to Van Nuys, California in 1955, he was a U.S. postal carrier for 17 years. After his retirement from the post office, Frank enjoyed another career as a ticket/passenger representative for Overseas National Airways (ONA) in Los Angeles. He moved to Las Vegas with his wife Dolores in 1987. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Dolores; his son, Mauro (Carla) Giuffrida; daughter, Linda (Chuck) Baker; grandchildren, Nick, Lindsay, Patrick, Mauro, Emalyn, Sophia, Scott, Tyrone, and Michelle; five great-grandchildren; his 96-year-old brother, Joseph, and numerous loving nieces and nephews. A funeral mass was held on May 31 at St. Joseph, Husband of Mary Catholic Church, 7260 W. Sahara Ave, Las Vegas. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 4th from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. at Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. with the interment at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veterans Memorial Drive in Boulder City at noon. Arrangements were made by Palm Mortuary at South Jones.
