Freddie as pre-named after her father Fred was thought to be a boy as to why the name was given and needless to say, God had other plans. Freddie graduated from Lancaster High School, where she graduated as Valedictorian, in June of 1953 and worked as a Candy-Striper in Parkland, the hospital she was born in. Freddie later met Homer R. Bethany who later became her husband and father of their three sons Kenneth, Rodney and Rickie. Freddie relocated to Los Angeles, California in late 1961. In 1962 Freddie met Herman D. Webb. The two unionized in Compton, California in late 1963 and bore their first child Rhonda in 1964. While attending electronics school in mid-1965 in Watts, California, Freddie learned she was pregnant with their son Keith. Freddie began her career in the electronics field by way of Philco-Ford in Inglewood, California and after a brief stay at Philco-Ford, Freddie accepted a position at Hughes Aircraft Corporation in El Segundo, California where she worked as an electronic missile guidance technician while the family lived in West Los Angeles, California. After working at Hughes Aircraft Corporation for a number of years, Freddie relocated to a small city in the Inland Empire by the name of Rialto, California in 1974. Where she attended First Baptist Church of North Fontana, California and served on the Usher Board until relocating to Las Vegas, Nv in 1998. She also served in the public eye as a volunteer with helping the homeless in her community as well as making plastic commodities for those in her apartment complex and donating them to those who could not afford them. In 1975, Freddie accepted employment at Teledyne Corporation in Rancho Cucamonga, California where she worked as an electronical conductor board assembler. Learning of an opening at a major aerospace corporation in the neighboring city, Freddie submitted her application and was told she’d get a call back for a follow-up interview. No need to say, the second call came but no interview was needed as she was hired on that phone call by Lockheed (Marten) Aircraft Aerospace. Freddie remained at Lockheed until retiring in 1993 as she spent almost 30 years in the Aerospace Industry. Freddie received numerous accolades from her employers throughout her career but the most and highest accolade she treasured was being a Child of God and raising her children in that manner.
Freddie was preceded in eternal rest by her father Fred, her mother Eva Mae, her son Rodney, her granddaughter Faith and her brother Clarance (Sambo). Freddie is survived by and leaves to cherish her memories through her eldest son Kenneth, son Rickie, daughter Rhonda, son Keith, grandson Keshawn (Angel), granddaughter Montoya, grandson Randall, Jr. granddaughter Jasmine (Tay Wilson), grandson Aaron, granddaughter Riyonna, great-grandson Isaiah, great-granddaughter Mahrii, great-grandson Chase, great-grandson Da’Kodis, great-grandson Cruze, great-granddaughter Kai, great-grandson Asuani, great-granddaughter Nicole and great-grandson Nathaniel.
