

Gary Allen Crabtree, of Las Vegas, Nevada, died on Veterans day, November 11, 2016 following a sudden illness. Born January 13, 1943 in Columbus, Ohio, the son of Wayne Emerson and Janice May (McCracken) Crabtree. He graduated from Fremont Ross High School in 1961. Gary entered the U.S. Navy on September 27, 1962 and served four years on active duty during the Vietnam War. His military training and service was in Aviation Electronics, working on aircraft radio communications and radar equipment. He was a proud member of The American Legion, Post 14 in Las Vegas. Gary was preceded in death by his parents, and is survived by his daughter Lisa (Crabtree) Oglesbee of Fremont, Ohio and his grandchildren Amber, Delanie and Evan Oglesbee. He is also survived by his brother Ronald Crabtree of New Philadelphia, Ohio and sisters Christina ( Crabtree) Heid of Green Valley Arizona and Janet (Crabtree) Newland of Tiffin, Ohio. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews to include Ronald "Bill" Crabtree, Debra (Crabtree) Wigbels, Daniel Crabtree ( killed in Iraq 2006), Paul "Rick" Newland, Robert "Robbie" Newland, Marianne (Heid) Tyler and Michael Heid plus numerous great nieces and nephews. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Military veterans section, 1793 W. McPherson Highway ( on Rt 20 East of Fremont) in Clyde, Ohio. There will be a private memorial grave site service with Military Honors by the American legion and V.F.W.
