Gary Lee Hergott, 56, of Las Vegas, passed away peacefully in his home April 15, 2015 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was met in Heaven by his mother and father who had recently preceded him in death. Born August 8, 1958 in Hebron, NE to Donald and Geraldine Hergott, Gary was raised on the family farm with 8 other siblings. After graduation from Meridian High School, Gary joined the U.S. Army. Blessed with the "gift of gab", he became an outstanding Army recruiter and after his discharge from the military, a successful salesman and business owner. Living life to the fullest, Gary enjoyed playing golf, camping in the RV, and riding many miles on his Harley motorcycle. In recent years, he was an enthusiastic jeeper who loved exploring and going on difficult trails. Gary is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Kayla (Knight); son, Robert Eguia; daughters, Jenna (Jeremy) Dumas, Kristina Hergott; grandson, Owen Dumas; brothers, Larry (Bernice) Hergott, Allen (Minh) Hergott, William (Susan) Hergott, Anthony (Laurie) Hergott, and Wayne (Dianne) Hergott; sisters, Donna (Stanley) Osterhoudt, Patricia Payvandi, and Betty Hergott; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, May 6, at 10 am. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, 1811 Pueblo Vista Dr., Las Vegas, NV, followed by a Jeep/Harley procession from Railroad Pass Casino to the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City, NV. Gone too soon, Gary will be greatly missed by his family and friends and his "furry" kid, Homer Horatio Hergott.
Arrangements under the direction of Palm Cheyenne Mortuary, Las Vegas, NV.
