George K. Uyema, 73, of Las Vegas, passed away May 5, 2014. He was born February 12, 1941 in Honolulu, was a veteran of the US Army, and resided in Las Vegas for 22 years. George owned and operated a trucking company and repair shop company with his two sons until he retired in 2013 due to health complications. Hxe was a loving husband, dad, and papa, who loved automotive and drag-racing. George was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Colleen. He is survived by his sons, Raymond and Rickey Uyema; granddaughter, Krystin Uyema; and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Friday, May 16, at Palm Mortuary, 6701 N. Jones Blvd. The family requests casual attire for the memorial service.
