Gordon L. Hafenrichter, 88, of Las Vegas NV passed away on Friday, March 4, 2022, and is now with the Lord. He was born in 1933 to Atlee and Irene Hafenrichter in Pullman, WA. Much of his childhood was spent in Portland Oregon, where he discovered his love for helping and encouraging others. Gordon studied at Oregon State University where he was a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity, and earned a degree in Business Economics. Also at college, he met and married the love of his life – Polly Boston; they spent the next 57 happy years together. Gordon and Polly have two sons – Dan (Renee) and Joe (Dena), and three grandchildren – Brandon, Connor, and Emily. He is survived by his brother – Dick. Gordon spent his entire 38 year career with the Sears and Roebuck Company, 25 of which were as the Manager for stores along the West Coast, and most recently in Las Vegas. Gordon was very active in the community, being a long-time Rotary Club Member, President of Stallion Mountain Country Club, Marketing professor at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and a long-time member of University United Methodist Church where he served as an usher and Finance Director. Gordon traveled extensively with Polly and friends to destinations in Europe, Australia, the Caribbean, Hawaii, and throughout North America. He loved visiting his sons and grandchildren in St. Louis and Seattle. In recent years, Gordon moved to Revel Nevada, an independent living community, where he thoroughly enjoyed a thriving community of people, activities and outings. As he had throughout his life, Gordon particularly enjoyed his close relationships with so many of the residents and staff at the center, making his final years vibrant and fulfilling. He was a kind, encouraging, and supportive father, grandfather, and friend. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the University United Methodist Church or the American Cancer Society.
