He grew up in Omaha and graduated from Benson High School with the Class of 1961. He enlisted in the U. S. Army in 1962 and was stationed in Germany; he was honorably discharged in 1968.
Jack had 4 daughters: twins Holly and Heidi, Heather and Kelly. Jack met the love of his life, Patricia (Johanson) Anderson at Parents Without Partners, and they were married on February 18, 1996 in Las Vegas, NV. They would have celebrated their silver wedding anniversary February 18, 2021.

Over the years Harvey worked at the Veterans Administration hospitals in Omaha, NE, Asheville, NC, Roseburg, OR, and finally Las Vegas, NV, from which he retired.
Jack was a self-taught "jack of all trades," and could fix almost anything. He excelled at woodworking and made treasures from doll houses for his granddaughters to kitchen cabinets and an oak roll-top desk for Pat. He also had a special fondness for model trains, especially the "N gauge" trains which he collected. Jack enjoyed camping, visiting the casinos, traveling with Pat, visits to and from family, and he loved his little Yorkie dogs, Freebie, Cricket, Clipper, Corky and Peanut.
Jack died on Saturday, Nov. 7, 2020, at Mountain View Hospital in Las Vegas, NV. He was 77 years, 1 month, and 1 day old.
