Hazel Isola James was born on April 12th, 1929 in Kingstown St.Vincent, West Indies. Hazel was born to Henry Bonadie and Matilda James, both deceased. She was the youngest of four siblings. In November of 1941, Hazel joined the Methodist Church of Kingstown St. Vincent. Upon her move to Queens N.Y., She joined the United Methodist Church in Brooklyn N.Y. Hazel completed high school and in 1966, she moved to the United Stated as a nanny, employed in Amboy, N.J. She later gained employment at the prestigious Sloan Kettering Hospital in Manhattan N.Y. where she retired after 25 years of dedicated employment. In August of 1971 she married Henry Leopold Wilson but later widowed. She is survived by one brother George and four children: Three sons and one daughter … Dayton Bonadie, wife Dottie Ann; Terence Wilson, wife Frances; Trevor McGlynn Bonadie and daughter Sharon Simpson, husband Pastor Durand. Five grandchildren, Tamara Wilson, Dr. Derek Stephenson, Dauriana Simpson, Chris Bonadie, Ryan Bonadie; six great grandchildren; two nieces, one nephew, numerous cousins and a host of friends, most who call her "Sis". If there's anything that can be said about Hazel, it's that her sense of “humor” was unforgettable and unmatched! Hazel met no strangers – she was a very compassionate, and giving person. In Matthew 25:35-40, Jesus said what “we did unto the least of them by giving food, clothing and shelter we did unto Him.” As such Hazel has received a "well done" – she offered all she had to any in need to include shelter, so much so, as to be humorously accused of managing a boarding home. In spite of the difficult times endured, Hazel made lemonade out of the lemons. As a single mother, she overcame many obstacles … she witnessed the successful accomplishments of her children and grandchildren; she purchased a home in Queens N.Y. and later attained sole ownership. Mom, you no longer have to cry about your legs, they're new; Mom you no longer have to complain about your eyes, they're new; you no longer have to ask, “what did you say”, your ears are new; breathe easy now, your lungs are new. Rest now, YOU'RE NEW!
