Born on December 2, 1933, in China, Hon Ching built a life defined by strength, devotion, and unwavering love for her family. She married the love of her life, Kai Yee Kwok, in 1950, beginning a partnership rooted in dedication and mutual support. In 1977, she courageously immigrated to the United States, creating new opportunities and a brighter future for the generations that followed.
Most of Hon Ching's early life was devoted to being a homemaker, a role in which she poured her heart and energy into caring for her growing family. After settling in Las Vegas, she worked for several years in local casinos as a cook's helper, bringing her strong work ethic, skill, and quiet determination to every shift
She was the devoted wife of the late Kai Yee Kwok and the cherished mother of eight children: Kenneth (Luva), Roberta, Kitty (Philip), Kerwin (the late Teresa), Selina, Fred (Misuk), Mui, and Kerry. Her family was always at the center of her world.
She was a proud grandmother to Ophelia and Sally (daughters of Kitty and Philip), Derek (son of Kerwin and the late Teresa}, and Johanna (daughter of Selina). Her legacy continued to grow with her great-grandchildren - Sophia, Chase, and Faith (children of Ophelia and Glenn), and Tyler and Sterling (children of Sally and Richard).
Hon Ching also enjoyed life's simple pleasures, especially the lively challenge of a good mahjong game. Her competitive spirit at the mahjong table was well known and brought joy and laughter to family gatherings.
She will be remembered for her resilience, her gentle spirit, her devotion to family, and her quiet but enduring strength.
Her family will carry her memory in their hearts always.
A memorial service will be held at Palm Mortuary - Northwest, located at 6701 North Jones Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89131, United States. The service is scheduled for November 30, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
