

Hugo Alberto Cascos, Sr., 88, passed away Sunday, February 1, 2015. Born on July 3, 1926 in Mexico City to Carlos H. Cascos and Ernestina Macedo Cascos, he was a 33 year resident of Las Vegas. Hugo was above all a devoted and loving father and a brilliant accountant. He immigrated to the United States in 1955 and subsequently became a U.S. citizen. After living in Brownsville, Texas for 27 years, he moved to Las Vegas where he resided until his death. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Laura R. Cascos, and 2 brothers, Hector A. Cascos and Sergio Mendoza. He is survived by his 6 children, Hugo, Jr (Becky) of Brownsville, Texas, David, Elsa, Luis (Olga) of Las Vegas, Adan (Holly) of Vista, CA, Yolanda (Yoli) Torres of Las Vegas, and his only surviving sibling, Elena Cascos Tilley of Sterling Heights, Michigan. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews with respective families. A memorial service to celebrate his life and now his joyful Homecoming into heaven will be held at 3 PM Friday, February 6th, at Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. in Las Vegas. Hugo was a devout Christian, a wonderful father, and a true gentleman. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Enjoy heaven, Pops, and wait for us there. We’ll be along later.
