

Nashia was born in Ogden, Utah on March 24, 1953, to Antonio and Lucille Torres. She met Jimmy Quinata in Guam and got married on March 24, 1973. They have two children, Jimmy Jr, and Natasha Rose. She and Jimmy moved to Las Vegas in 1994 after Jimmy’s retirement from the United States Air Force. In July 1994, she started as a volunteer catechist, lector and eucharistic ministry at Nellis Base Chapel and she was hired as the Catholic Religious Education Coordinator in April 2006 until January 2026. She trained catechists, held training classes, planned and facilitated sacrament retreats, arranged First Communion and Confirmation mass. Over 2,000 young boys, girls and adults received their First Communion and Confirmation sacraments at the base chapel during her service. She also coordinated and organized the Chapel Annual Volunteer Appreciation Dinner, Chapel Christmas Tree Lighting, Vacation Bible School and other chapel events.
After a life of loving dedication to her family and her community, Nashia passed away on Sunday, February 15, 2026. Nashia was predeceased by her parents Antonio and Lucille Torres, son Jimmy Quinata Jr. Nashia is survived by her husband Jimmy, daughter Natasha Rose, and partner Eric, daughter-in-law Sheila, sisters Barbara Rose Flusche, Mary (Lola) Kinsella Wohlers, brother Sebastian Torres; 12 grandchildren, Marleyrose, Elijah, Trinity, Erico Jr, Selene, Evangeline, Ezekiel, Zakariah, Darin, Christian, Evan and Evelyn.
Services for Nashia will be held Monday, March 9, 2026, at Nellis AFB Chapel, 4302 N Washington Blvd, Nellis Air Force Base, NV 89191. The visitation will be 8:00 - 10:00 AM, the Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM, and Reception to follow. The committal service will occur Monday, March 9, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Palm Northwest Cemetery, 6701 North Jones Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89131.
