Isaac (Ike) Elton Williams, age 75 of Las Vegas, Nevada, passed away on September 2, 2013. Ike was born on March 24, 1938 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to his parents, Isaac Henry Williams and Anna Leona Williams (née Dix). Ike grew up mainly in Pocomoke City, Maryland and graduated from Worcester High School. He joined the Air Force on May 17, 1957, and still managed to earn both an Associates in Business Management and an Associates in Applied Science.
While he was stationed in Toul Rosiere Air Base, France during a tour of duty, he met the love of his life, Marcelline Bastian and married her on December 24, 1960.
Ike selflessly served his country in destinations around the world, including two tours in the Vietnam War. While serving in Vietnam as a C-130B Loadmaster, he received the Distinguished Flying Cross award for his extraordinary achievement during an extremely hazardous tactical emergency aerial flight mission in support of ground operations.
He retired in Tacoma, Washington after serving 26 years in the Air Force, and went into the real estate business. While living in Tacoma, Ike enjoyed spending time outdoors camping, hunting and golfing.
After living in Tacoma for 20 years, Ike relocated to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1996, where he peacefully enjoyed retirement life, playing golf and going to jazz concerts. Committed to giving back to the military community he loved so much, he volunteered regularly with the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion organizations.
Ike is survived by Marcelline, his devoted wife of 52 years; children Gloria Williams, Stella Denson and Michael Williams; 12 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren, all of whom he loved and adored.
