James Byron Childers an exceptional painting contractor passed away August 9, 2018 with his family by his side. He was born July 25, 1948 in Idaho and had been a resident of Nevada since 1962. James owned and operated his business Creative Painting, and no one would ever know that his truck was a work truck because it was always meticulously clean, inside and out. After being an entrepreneur for 38 years, James decided to work for the federal government for the last 6 ½ years of his life at the Nevada Test Site.
James enjoyed watching sports with his favorite teams at the top of the list, the Chicago Bears and the Chicago Cubs. He also enjoyed watching hockey, eating and joking with his family and friends. What was most important to James was his love for God, the love of his life, Linda, his daughter, Kim, his family, his dog, Bella, and his country.
He was preceded in death by his father, Pastor Paul B. Childers, and his brother, Paul Steven Childers. James leaves to cherish his memories, his devoted wife of 25 years, Linda Childers; his loving daughter, Kim Dachelet (David); his adorable grandsons, Sawyer and Dawson Dachelet; his supportive mother, Ferle Childers; his two wonderful brothers, Pastor John Mark Childers (Yvonne) and Pastor David LeRoy Childers (Madeline); and his extended family members. James warm smile and his sense of humor will be missed by his family and friends.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Thursday, August 16th at 4:00pm at Peace Way Christian Center, 7570 Peace Way, Las Vegas, NV 89147.
