

He was born February 1,1936 in La Puente, California to Pedro and Lucy Diaz. He attended school in the San Fernando Valley and joined the U.S. Army when he was 17 years old.
He was owner operator of Diaz Backhoe Service for several years. He moved to Las Vegas in 1989 from Moorpark California. He was a proud Army veteran, a member of American Legion Post NV0100, International Union of Operating Engineers Local 12 for 62 years and Saint Frances de Sales parish.
Thank you to Jimmy's friends for the love and companionship they have shown throughout the years, especially the owners and staff at The Harvest Cafe. He considered all of you his family.
He is survived by his daughters Lisa (Frank) Reynoso of Santa Maria California, Laura (James) Shepherd of Moab Utah, sister Rebecca (Alfredo) Tamayo of Avalon California, brother in law Fernando Urquidez of Burbank California. Grandchildren Olivia, Frank III, Andrew, Christopher, Joshua, Seth and 9 great grandchildren. His special friends Becky Barela and Brian Zuern.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, wife Jonean (Jonnie) Diaz, stepson Robert Lundgren, sister Cynthia Cordero and his little dog Duchess.
Services will be January 20th at noon, Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City Nevada.
